History
The Deritend Group Limited has been formally in existence in its current format since March 2001, following a management buy-out of the company. With its origins dating back to 1898, the group has evolved into a dedicated service provider to industry, with the aspiration to become the leading UK engineering solutions supplier. The group has ambitious growth plans for the future. Deritend operates within seven core competencies.
Service based
All are solutions based services, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, our offer primarily being based upon the number of man hours sold; ultimately people are our business - there is not a tangible product to be seen. Each of these 'core areas' are referred to as individual services in their own right and are branded as such. All require an exceptional level of skill to execute, with Deritend having the in-house capability, resource, knowledge and reputation to ensure competitive advantage.
Core business
Traditionally the core business of Deritend has been that of Electro-Mechanical Services, primarily consisting of motor rewinds and repair, gearbox refurbishment, amongst others. Due to the changing needs of our customers, the group has evolved to embrace new product sales. In certain instances for example, a motor may be beyond repair. As a true solutions provider, Deritend has harnessed this requirement and are now leading stockists of a wide range of products, also including gearboxes, soft starts, and ancillary products.
