Deritend has come a long way since our beginnings in 1898. We are at the forefront of engineering asset management and maintenance, with nine state-of-the-art facilities across the UK. The business has been formally in existence in its current format since a management buy-out in March 2001.

The Deritend Board
â€śHaving served an Indentured Electrical Engineering apprenticeship with British Steel Corporation and becoming a maintenance engineer with a steel strip mill in South Yorkshire Richard joined British Electrical Repairs (now ERIKS) in 1983, carrying out various sales and operational management roles until joining Preformed Windings in 1988 as General Manager. Following on from Preformed Richard was asked to join Rolls Royce PLC within their Industrial Power division managing their service division of Parson Peebles Electrical Machines and having full P&L responsibility for service centres in England, Scotland and Holland. In July 1993 he returned to the Deritend Group holding various senior operational management roles until heading up the management buyout in March 2001 as Group Managing Director.
Richard has an ONC and HNC in Electrical Engineering and studied an honours degree in Business Studies at Sheffield University.
A member of the IOD and former member of the management Board of the EEF, he sits on the board of Directors of EASA an international service association for the repair of Electrical apparatus.
A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (FCMA), Stuart began his career as an accountancy trainee with British Rail Engineering (then the maintenance and new build workshops of British Rail).
Stuart has held roles within a range of different organisations and industries during his career, including JCB, SAPA, an aluminium extruder, the bathroom manufacturer Armitage Shanks, a secondary aluminium smelter, and Calder Aluminium where he was a key member of the MBO team in the mid-nineties. Stuart joined The Deritend Group as Finance Director and member of the MBO team in 2001. He plays a key role in the businessâ€™ strategic growth and development.
David is Chairman of JLA, the laundry services business acquired by Hg Capital in 2010 and also of Deritend Industries, the plant maintenance specialist backed by Maven Capital. David joined Phoenix IT Group plc as a Non-Executive Director on 1 December 2008, St Modwen Properties plc in April 2010 and Kewill plc in April 2011. David was senior independent director at Carillion plc between 2004-2011'. Until October 2008 David was Group Chief Executive of TDG plc which he joined in 1999 from Associated British Foods plc where he was an Executive Director having previously held senior positions in a number of leading UK food companies.
